As co-founder and co-director of Caddies 4 Cure, Ryan DuChene manages celebrity relations and helps lead the organization’s mission to increase awareness, participation, and support of causes that meet the needs of Northwest children and families.
Ryan and co-founder Justin Marquart created Caddies 4 Cure in 2002 as a way to raise money for two charities close to their hearts, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Emanuel Children’s Hospital. Ryan’s wife, Marci, was diagnosed with MS in 2001. Since then, the Duchene’s have directed their energy toward finding out everything they can about the disease and helping to find a cure. In the process, they’ve developed strong friendship and ties with the National MS Society and Oregon Chapter. A portion of Caddies 4 Cure donations go to the Marci DuChene Multiple Sclerosis Fund of Oregon.
Ryan credits family, friends and volunteers for the success of Caddies 4 Cure. He says he is most proud of the awareness Caddies 4 Cure has generated for MS and the Children’s Hospital. He hopes the participants who attend Caddies 4 Cure from all over the US are inspired to continue to find ways to support their own communities when they go home.
In addition to his role with Caddies 4 Cure, Ryan is a sports marketing planning analyst for Nike Golf in Beaverton, Oregon. He is also actively involved with Lake Oswego Young Life, Oregon Food Bank and Nike initiative, Let Me Play.
Ryan and Marci DuChene have two sons, Kaden (3) and Landon (9 months).
About Caddies 4 Cure
Caddies 4 Cure was established in 2002 by Justin Marquart and Ryan DuChene. Friends for more than 20 years, Justin and Ryan founded Caddies 4 Cure as a way to raise money for two charities close to their hearts, the Oregon Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Legacy Emanuel Children’s Hospital. In 2001, Ryan’s wife, Marci, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Ryan and Marci have become very involved with the Oregon Chapter, National MS Society, and hope that their charitable efforts will one day lead to a cure. The Ella Marie Marquart Fund benefits the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Emanuel Children’s Hospital. The fund is in honor of Justin and Lisa Marquart’s daughter, who passed away at one month of age from a congenital heart defect.
